DANGERS OF POWER

Published on 22 February 2023 at 09:53

Power is one of the most self-destructive weapons created by nature. Power can either make or destroy anything and anybody that comes in its way.
Power is a magical hierarchical energy that can be transferred or gained through hard work and hardship, or within a specific bloodline. Hence it is addictive, people are willing to give it all and die for it.
Is power evil? That is a philosophical question.
Some people will agree that yes, power is evil, while others will deeply disagree.
Someone told me that power is just a magnifying glass of who we are. Meaning, it can either make or destroy the soul. If you're a good person with power, you're just a good person, and your power will just project the kindness that lives in you. Because you'll use your power positively. But if you're an evil person, things may easily turn into chaos. With all being said, that is not always the case.
I've never experienced power making evil people better, but yes, many times I've seen good people becoming evil after they acquire power.
Power can be dangerous, never wish to become its slave, or it would consume you.
People say, "with great power comes great responsibility", I will say with great power comes greater temptation.
These are the dangers of power, beware.

Power can change the heart

Change is a good thing, but as I did mention before, I've never experienced an evil person that became good after acquiring power, but I've experienced the opposite. Which is quite common.
Power can make a beautiful heart turn ugly within the blink of an eye. We've seen that, and it's crazy and a pity. You see the humblest people become giants right after they've been given power. Boarding school was not an easy place, I had to learn about life the hard way. Good students became mean just to inspire fear and gain respect. It was a zombie land.

Power can corrupt the heart

It's hard to establish if corruption is a good or bad thing. But I can sincerely say, power would easily corrupt the heart.
From the humblest peasants to the greatest kings, everybody has been involved in some sort of corruption inspired by power. What else is better than the power to be able to call the shots and bend the rules? It doesn't matter, as long as we have a justification for our actions.

Power can consume the heart

This is the biggest danger of power. Power can consume us, make us its slaves. When men get consumed by power, they become evil. Not bad nor corrupt, but just pure evil. Since the dawn of mankind, we have heard so many tales, sagas, and stories of evil men and evil leaders.
When power consumes the heart, it takes control. There is nothing left than pure evil. The most dangerous thing is to have the power to be able to take a life. These people don't blink. The worst thing is, anything can be done, as long as there's a justification. Power can either create or destroy.
Beware, cause with greater power, comes greater temptation.
